Son of Boxing Legend Sugar Ray Leonard Arrested
at Family Estate in Pacific Palisades Daniel Ray Leonard, the youngest son of Hall of Fame boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, was arrested Wednesday morning at his father’s Los Angeles home. According to a TMZ report, the 25-year-old was taken into custody for allegedly violating a restraining order. Sources told TMZ that Daniel attempted to enter the residence by turning exterior door handles. It remains unclear if he gained entry before police arrived, but officers located him by the pool house and promptly placed him under arrest. He was seen leaving the property in the back of a police car. Sugar Ray Leonard, now 70, still resides on a luxurious $46.5 million estate in the exclusive Upper Riviera section of the Pacific Palisades. The property has been listed for sale multiple times in recent years but has yet to find a buyer. Daniel is the fourth son of the boxing icon, born to Sugar Ray and his second wife Bernadette Robi. The couple also share sons Jarrel and a daughter Camille, while Sugar Ray’s first son, Ray Jr., was born in 1973. The family has largely kept their private life out of the spotlight, but signs of strain have surfaced in recent months. Last February, Bernadette posted a cryptic caption on Instagram alongside a photo of her husband and son on the beach. “Happy Valentine’s to my hearts!!! Love you both beyond and we will get through this faze!” she wrote. Just a year earlier, Sugar Ray had celebrated Daniel’s birthday with a heartfelt post: “So happy to be with my son Daniel this weekend! I am so proud of you!!! Happy Birthday!!!” More recently, Daniel was conspicuously absent from family photos shared at Bernadette’s birthday celebration in April, fueling quiet online speculation about their relationship. Sugar Ray Leonard remains one of boxing’s most celebrated figures, having compiled a 36-3-1 record across a legendary career spanning three decades. Representatives for the Leonard family have not yet commented publicly on Wednesday’s arrest. Photo credit: Sugar Ray Leonard Facebook
