Agit Kabayel Calls for Usyk Showdown in Germany After Glory in Giza Win
Agit Kabayel (25-0, 17 KOs) made a thunderous statement at “Glory in Giza” on DAZN, dismantling his opponent to extend his unbeaten record and immediately calling for a shot at unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk — preferably on home soil in Germany. The 31-year-old German contender, coming off career-best body-shot KOs of Arslanbek Makhmudov and Frank Sanchez, once again displayed his punishing inside game. After the final bell, Kabayel grabbed the microphone and addressed Usyk directly: “I’ve beaten two top contenders back-to-back. I’m ready. Let’s do it in Germany — football stadium, summer 2025. I respect Usyk, but I will break his body.” Kabayel wasn’t the only heavyweight calling for a shot at the Ukrainian maestro. American knockout artist Richard “Rico” Torrez Jr. (11-0, 10 KOs) also scored a devastating first-round finish on the Giza card and insisted he deserves to jump the queue. Torrez, an Olympic silver medalist, fired back: “If Kabayel wants it, he can get in line. I’ll knock out Usyk within six rounds.” With Usyk weighing his options after back-to-back victories over Tyson Fury, the division is bursting with hungry contenders. Kabayel offers a unique stylistic puzzle with his relentless body attack, while Torrez brings youthful power and blistering speed. A stadium fight in Germany would be a colossal event, though Usyk may be eyeing one final legacy bout before retirement. Both men made emphatic cases, but only one can land the golden ticket. Who would you rather see challenge Oleksandr Usyk next: the methodical body-snatcher Agit Kabayel, or the explosive “Rico” Torrez? Let us know in the comments. Photo credit: Frank Warren Facebook
