Baltimore Judge Issues Arrest Warrant for Gervonta Davis, No Bond

Gervonta "Tank" Davis is once again facing serious legal jeopardy after a Baltimore judge issued an active arrest warrant for the undefeated boxer for an alleged probation violation. The violation stems from his arrest in Florida earlier this year on domestic violence charges. Court records show that on February 2, Baltimore Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy first issued a warrant for the potential violation. Davis's legal team successfully argued for cooperation, and the warrant was recalled on February 10. However, after further review, Judge Handy issued a fresh warrant on April 24. On May 22, she denied a second motion from Davis's attorneys to recall it, leaving the warrant active. The probation is tied to Davis's 2020 conviction for a hit-and-run crash in Baltimore that injured four people, including a pregnant woman. Local officials claim the Miami altercation at Tootsie’s Cabaret on October 27, 2025—where he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel—constitutes a direct violation of his probation terms. Court records confirm that if law enforcement arrests Davis on this warrant, he will be held without bond in Baltimore County. The latest legal trouble casts further doubt over the career of the 31-year-old WBA lightweight champion, who hasn't fought since a controversial draw against Lamont Roach Jr. in March 2025. While a mandatory title defense against Floyd Schofield has been ordered, his immediate future remains deeply uncertain. Photo credit: The Ring Magazine
