Floyd Mayweather Hit with Felony Charges Over $200K Bad Check
Floyd Mayweather is facing two felony charges in Las Vegas after allegedly passing a bad check to buy a $200,000 watch, according to Nevada court records. The charges are theft of $100,000 or greater and drawing a check with intent to defraud (value $1,200 or greater). Mayweather did not appear at Monday’s Clark County court hearing; his attorney represented him. A criminal complaint filed April 27 alleges that on December 31, 2024, Mayweather wrote a $200,000 check from a Wells Fargo account to Gold and Beyond, a high‑end Las Vegas resale boutique. Prosecutors say he wrote the check “knowing that the check would not be paid when presented” and that he did so “knowingly, feloniously, and without lawful authority.” The complaint states Mayweather had insufficient funds or credit to cover the check. The charges add to a growing list of legal and financial troubles. Civil plaintiffs in at least four states claim he owes them money, the IRS holds a tax lien of more than $7.2 million for unpaid 2018 and 2023 taxes, and a Las Vegas‑area gated community filed a separate lien exceeding $22,500.
