Jorge Kahwagi Dies at 58: Mexican Politician and Undefeated Boxer Passes Away
Jorge Kahwagi Macari, the flamboyant Mexican politician, businessman, and boxer, has passed away at 58 in Mexico City following a cerebral haemorrhage. Kahwagi was a master of self-reinvention who seamlessly bridged the worlds of power and spectacle. In the political arena, he served as a federal deputy in Mexico’s Congress, leading the Green Ecological Party (PVEM) and later New Alliance. Simultaneously, he pursued a surreal professional boxing career. Competing in the cruiserweight division, he retired with a statistically flawless record of 12-0 with 12 knockouts, even capturing minor WBC titles. However, the boxing world widely ridiculed his bouts, accusing him of staging fights against opponents who took obvious dives. His cartoonish, heavily altered physique only added to the theatrics. A natural showman, Kahwagi also achieved reality-TV fame on Big Brother VIP. He leaves behind a legacy defined by wealth, eccentricity, and pure pop-culture fascination
