Fury Cruises Past Makhmudov in Lopsided Return, Eyes Bigger Prey

Tyson Fury marked his return to the ring with a masterclass in defensive precision and ring generalship, cruising to a shutout victory over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov. At the conclusion of 12 largely one-sided rounds, "The Gypsy King" was awarded a unanimous decision via scores of 120-108, 120-108, and 119-109. Despite Makhmudov’s reputation as a feared power puncher, he was reduced to a lumbering spectator for much of the night. Fury used his trademark feints and lateral movement to neutralize the Russian's offense, peppering him with a steady diet of jabs and punishing right hands to the body.
