Terence Crawford Reflects on Historic Three-Division Undisputed Achievement

Bud Has Spoken: Crawford Hits Back at Critics, Hints at Legacy Not Finished Terence Crawford isn't just defending his legacy—he's hinting it may not be done yet. The recently retired pound-for-pound king took to social media to silence critics while leaving the door ajar for a sensational comeback. “What’s better than being Undisputed? Being Undisputed two times,” Crawford posted. “What better then being Undisputed two times? Being Undisputed 3 times in three different weights. Now argue with yo momma.” The statement—shared alongside Ring Magazine’s Riyadh Season graphic—is Bud’s powerful rebuttal to those questioning his retirement timing. Having already become the first male fighter in the four-belt era to achieve undisputed status in three weight classes (140, 147, and 168 pounds), Crawford isn't asking for validation. He's stating facts. Yet, the boxing world wonders: could a return to 154 pounds be on the horizon? Crawford captured the WBA super welterweight strap with a unanimous decision over Israil Madrimov in August 2024. The other belts are currently held by Sebastian Fundora (WBC, WBO) and Josh Kelly (IBF). Unifying at junior middleweight would give Crawford an unprecedented fourth undisputed crown—a feat that would transcend eras. At 38, retirement may be official, but when Bud speaks, the fight game always listens. Photo credit: Ring Magazine / Facebook
