Daniel Dubois stops Fabio Wardley to claim the WBO heavyweight title đź‘‘
CHAMPION ONCE AGAIN 👏 Manchester, England – Daniel Dubois is a two-time heavyweight world champion after a brutal 11th-round knockout of Fabio Wardley at the Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night to claim the WBO title. Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) entered as the challenger, having lost his previous contest—a July 2025 rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) was making the first defence of the belt he was elevated to in November 2025 after Usyk vacated rather than face a mandatory challenger. The fight was a punishing war. Wardley scored a shocking knockdown just 10 seconds into the opening round, but Dubois recovered and steadily broke down the champion with power shots and a ramrod jab. By the 11th round, Wardley’s legs were gone and the referee waved off the contest. “I’m back where I belong,” Dubois said. “Wardley is a warrior, but I showed I’m the true powerhouse.” The all-British showdown was broadcast live on DAZN PPV and sets up a potential future unification with the winner of the upcoming Fury–Usyk trilogy. 📸 Photo credit: The Ring Magazine
